Welcome to Luxembourg!
Follow up to the 1st Ministerial meeting in 2016; envisaged by the Declaration adopted at that time. Organised to take stock of progress in addressing environmental challenges in EaP area, highlight circular economy and waste management issues and discuss future activities.
Participants :
Environment and/or Climate Change Ministers of EU and EaP countries and three Commissioners (Commissioner Vella, Commissioner Cañete and Commissioner Hahn) would participate in the Ministerial meeting. The European Environment Agency (EEA), EIB, EBRD, international organizations, and representatives of the EaP Civil Society Forum and the Regional Environment Centers will also attend the meeting.
The following attendance to the respective parts of the meeting is envisaged:
Sessions on environment and climate change on 9 October:
General formula: a Minister for EaP countries + up to 2 accompanying persons, and, for EU Member States, + a high-level representative of the ministers and 1 accompanying person; a Commissioner + 1 accompanying person; 2 representatives of EEA; 1 representative per international organisation; 2 representatives of EaP CSF; 2 representatives of RECs; up to 4 representatives from EIB and EBRD in total.
Ministerial working lunch on related priorities in EaP region on 9 October:
General formula: Ministers and Commissioners only.
